Our Campus
Welcome to Garner
Welcome to Garner Middle School, home of the Yearlings. As the first middle school established in NEISD, Garner has a proud history of helping students learn, grow, and prepare for their future.
Today, that tradition continues in a learning environment designed to challenge students while giving them opportunities to discover who they are and what interests them. Through strong academics, Dual Language, AVID strategies, fine arts, athletics, electives, clubs, and hands-on learning experiences, Yearlings are encouraged to stretch beyond their expectations and build the confidence and independence they need for high school.

What Makes Garner Special
Dual Language
Garner’s Dual Language program gives students the opportunity to continue developing bilingualism and biliteracy while strengthening their academic skills. By learning across languages and cultures, students develop communication skills and perspectives that can open doors to future academic and career opportunities.
AVID Strategies for Every Student
At Garner, AVID strategies aren't limited to one classroom or group of students. All students are taught strategies that strengthen organization, critical thinking, collaboration, and academic habits, helping Yearlings become more confident and independent learners.
A Space to Create and Explore
Garner’s state-of-the-art library, Maker Space, and Distance Learning Center give students access to more than 22,000 print and digital resources and spaces designed for active learning. Students can collaborate, create, investigate new ideas, and connect classroom learning with new experiences.
Find What Inspires You
Middle school is a chance to discover new interests and talents. Through award-winning Fine Arts, Athletics and Electives programs, along with clubs and organizations, Yearlings have many ways to get involved, form friendships, develop leadership skills, and find their place in the Garner community.
